Who’s Jo Mama?

How it All Began

The story begins back in 2011, when Chris and I first met while studying abroad in the tiny old country of the Netherlands in this even tinier town, Maastricht. We went on a few weekend trips throughout Europe, and he asked me to be his girlfriend one evening underneath the Eiffel Tower as it sparkled. Of course, I said yes.

The traveling continued soon after graduating from college when we took teaching jobs abroad in the wonderful country of South Korea. Here’s the plot twist: a few months into our teaching contracts, we found out I was pregnant!

Now we have a little girl who has rapid little feet of her own itching to wander new territory. While going abroad is not out of the question, we’re starting her on a “smaller” scale exploring our new home in the City of Angels, where it’s 80 degrees F in the middle of winter. Despite the traffic, L.A. has it’s own charm.

  1. Loree, Thanks for sharing these blogs of Jojo. It’s been a pleasure for Donna and myself to have a you and our beautiful granddaughter join our family. Whenever something comes up with Who’s Jo’s mama, I’ll stop whatever I’m doing just to view this post. I know it’s hard, but please always ask if you guys need anything. Starting a family is very tough and this world will eat you up, so please don’t hesitate to ask. We love you guys so much. Please be safe. Love ya, Steve & Donna

  2. Hi! I love your blog. Your recipes look delicious. I’m going to have to try one sometime this week! I couldn’t find any contact information, so I decided to comment here. I’m working on this new project on my YouTube channel. I want to do a weekly video where I feature the voices of young moms. What I basically want to do is get some inspiration and/or funny stories, advice, or just general comments on the experience of young motherhood. Then I want to make a video centered on that theme. Would this be something you’re interested in? If so, you can email me at brittanytouris@gmail.com. And we can talk a little bit more about the project!

  3. Hi! I read your comment in my entry! Thank you so much for the wonderful words! And yes, thank you for encouraging me to write more. I’m so excited to share my life with other girls/young parents like me! Godbless!

  4. So, wow – I’m so glad you found my blog and that your comment brought me here because I loooove finding other young mommas. I also think it’s hilarious that we both have chicken pot pie and quinoa recipes in our blogs (albeit different ones, and that quinoa black bean dish looks AHMAZING).

Josephine is adorable, you’re all hashtag blessed, and I miss LA.

    1. HA! I hadn’t even noticed that about our recipes, hilarious. Virtual high five for young mama blogger friends, can’t wait to see what other similar posts we come up with! 🙂
